Our mission is to compassionately and courageously elevate the love, vibrance and unity that make Saint Louis a great place to be. We do this by fixing houses, helping people buy homes they love, and encouraging local investment by people who believe in Saint Louis.
About Essential StL
Saint Louis is an amazing city with spectacular architecture, strong communities and most importantly, wonderful, loving people who look out for each other. We may have challenges but the only way to overcome them is to uncover the essence of what makes this city great.
When we fix buildings, we strengthen our communities and empower the very people who make our communities. It puts money in the pockets of local businesses, contractors and most importantly, generates tax revenue. Transforming a dilapidated building can easily add thousands a year to the city’s real estate tax revenue. Do that a few times and you've paid a teacher's salary. You can see how quickly that makes a difference in the ability to improve infrastructure, provide services and hire people who help, like teachers and first responders.
Essential StL takes pride in doing on projects that others have passed by in areas that the big developers don’t care about. It’s not just about making money, it’s about creating homes for the people of Saint Louis to enjoy their future in. To create a future that incorporates the history of the city with a vision of the future.
